Title: Mistake on the Part of Nature
Author: idiopathicsmile on Ao3
Fandom: CA: The Winter Soldier film
Rating: PG, I think
Pairing: James "Bucky" Barnes/Steve Rogers
Genre: Slash
Summary: Steve takes in Bucky's betrayed look and Sam's confusion, follows Sam's gaze to the pile of mangled fruit in the trash can. Sudden comprehension fills his face."Oh," he says. "Bucky found out about bananas."
In which an American icon is mourned. But probably not the one you're thinking of.
Warning: Spoilers for Captain America: The Winter Soldier film

A gentle and funny fic about Steve and Bucky commiserating over bananas. Although it's a humorous piece, there's something romantic and wistful about it too. Makes you understand a bit more about Steve's "man out of time" situation and its quiet tragedy. At least till Bucky comes along^_~

Just watched the final episode of Yuri on Ice..... That ending caused me to have tears in my eyes, broke my heart, yet lifted my spirits and made me smile like a madwoman! What a brilliant, brilliant series with a great production team behind it.

Excuse me while I go search for tissues..*Chibi Ariss in fangirl mode*

The summary's very long but basically it's "Secret Agent adversaries-to-lovers AU where the Winter Soldier keeps tying Captain America to walls and sticking around to chat. Shut up, Natasha, it’s not flirting, okay? (It’s definitely flirting.)"

Very cute AU with a hint of things to come^_~

Yuri on Ice episode.11 sent me to fangirl heaven! XD
*Chibi Ariss bounces like a madwoman*

This series is defying all expectations. Such strong writing and direction. I can't remember a show that feels so real and adult, yet manages its humour and fanservice without being offensive. It's certainly the highlight of my week since it aired and its optimism in the face of so much psychological and real life issues that face its characters is uplifting.

Can't wait for next week's episode! XD

Title: Moving In (To Every Single Aspect of Danny’s Life, Including the Boring Bits like Dry-Cleaning)
Author: westgirl on Ao3
Fandom: Hawaii Five-0
Rating: PG, I think
Pairing: Steve/Danny
Summary: It felt wrong for Steve to sound unsure of his place in Danny’s life. His place in Danny’s life was at Danny’s side, driving him slowly insane. Steve should feel secure about that.

For some reason, it's really difficult to find good fic in this fandom. Writers just can't seem to strike the same balance between humour and angst as the show does. But this fic is beautiful! It's funny, sad, romantic, and plain crazy at times^_~

The author writes a very in-character Steve McGarrett who is slowly but surely entangling himself into Danny's life in non-typical fashion and poor Danny doesn't seem to know what to do about it! XD I couldn't stop laughing at some parts, while others made me a little weepy. Recommended reading!

Okay, I just saw this great pic of gay couple in a new comic and I know there must be some comic book fans on the Flist. Where do I start reading about this couple???

A good article on gay novels and the role/effect of shame on its characters: https://psmag.com/the-new-gay-novel-401ee9e318b1#.g8mxie9al

While it's good to find happy and well-adjusted characters in fiction, I do sometimes find it unrealistic that authors don't want to discuss the more thorny issues of exploring and accepting one's sexuality and its effect on the character's life.

I've never heard of this 800 years old tradition but it seems the swans on the river Thames belong to the Queen, killing or injuring these swans is punishable by a six-month prison term and/or a fine up to £5,000, and they need to be counted and tagged. *grins* The swans don't look very happy: http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/36834608

This needs an urban fantasy novel; the swans are actually endangered shape-shifting fae/creatures that only interact with descendants of the royal bloodline who possess a gift for sorcery? Any one wants to write it? Bonus if there's an m/m, human/swan pairing! XD
